Newport Coast Preschool is proud to offer a comprehensive art curriculum, taught by a talented and creative specialist, as part of the program. Weekly lessons are presented to all PreK and JuniorK students in dedicated outdoor Art Pavilion; they receive systematic art and drawing instruction, exposure to alternate mediums, and time to express their creativity. For younger students, a special art activity is offered by the art teacher during their outside play time; they are welcome to explore the area as a preferred choice. This resource is a benefit that all our students enjoy, and a prime example of the underlying value of our curriculum: while students are having fun and playing at preschool they are unknowingly learning new skills and building a strong academic foundation! During art instruction, building blocks of development are stimulated; students learn to appreciate visual aesthetics and increase development in the following areas:

  • Language
  • Motor Skills
  • Visual Acuity
  • Inventiveness
  • Cultural Awareness
  • Decision Making
