SARA GUGGENHEIM JARRETT

OWNER & FOUNDER

Sara Guggenheim Jarrett started teaching preschool part time in 1990, where she discovered her love for teaching and watching children learn. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development & Family Studies from the California State University at Long Beach and from there went on to become an Assistant Director at a local preschool.

After realizing there was nothing available in the preschool market between the philosophies of developmental and Montessori she decided to fill that void. Her goal was to provide an environment that exposes children to academics in a developmentally appropriate way. In June of 1998 she found herself in a trailer as her office, on a dirt lot, on what was to become Newport Coast Preschool.

In January of 1999, Newport Coast Preschool opened its doors with six classrooms and 75 students. By September 1999 the school was full with the need of another classroom. Our seventh room was built in 2001 and became what is now the Junior Kindergarten class.

Mrs. Jarrett feels very fortunate to have such an amazing, dedicated and loyal staff whom she credits for the ongoing success of the preschool. She believes in the “it takes a village” philosophy and knows that her vision could not have come to fruition without each teacher and administrator.

Mrs. Jarrett lives in Newport Beach with her husband and two beautiful daughters McKenna & Mia. She enjoys playing tennis, entertaining, reading, cooking and spending time with family.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
